Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar held a meeting with the senior leaders of the Congress and finalized cabinet expansion. Four leaders, Randeep Singh Surjewala, KC Venugopal, DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaih, finalized 24 MLAs, selected as ministers, who will take the oath on May 27. The finalized names is not yet disclosed and has been sent to INC President Mallikarjun Kharge for a final decision.

After suspense of days, the Indian National Congress finally announced the name of Karntaka Chief Minister. Karnataka Congress leader DK Shivakumar threatened to file a defamation case against news agencies and channels, suggesting that Shivakumar is set to resign. Ahead of the big Karnataka CM announcement, some news channels reported that DK Shivakumar will submit his resignation. However, not only the Karnataka Congress leader denied the rumours, but also said he will take legal action against those reporting such resignation rumours.

The Indian National Congress (INC) is set to announce the Chief Minister of Karnataka, after the thumping victory against the BJP.  After securing 137 seats in the southern state, the Congress is in tough spot, to select the Karnataka CM. Notably, Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar are eyeing the position, and are the two candidates for the post. In this regard, Congress held a meeting and would announce the CM.
