Domestic Air Travel To Get Dearer As Govt Hikes Fare Limits By 10-30%

The Civil Aviation Ministry has decided to increase the lower and upper limits on domestic airfares by 10-30% until March 31, 2021 or further orders. The increment will hike airfares along seven bands of flights based on different time durations. DGCA clarifies its policy on refunds

DGCA Says Refund Applicable Only For Flights Originating In India

DGCA has informed the Supreme Court that the refund for international air tickets will be applicable only for flights originating from India. It said that there cannot be any refund for flights originating out of India, irrespective of it being an Indian or international carrier coming into India. The DGCA also clarified that there is no credit shell for travel agents as it is a private agreement.

Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh: Travel Guidelines and Quarantine Rules for Air Commuters

The Airports Authority of India has issued fresh guidelines for the air passengers arriving at Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Passengers arriving at Tamil Nadu will have to undergo home quarantine for a period of 14 days, and symptomatic passengers have to undergo institutional quarantine. Whereas in Uttar Pradesh, it is 7 days of institutional quarantine for international passengers, and 14 days of home quarantine for domestic passengers.
