Bahrain Court Imprisons 30-Year-Old Woman Accused Of Polyandry
A 30-year-old gulf woman has been imprisoned for 11 years by the Bahrain Court for marrying three men simultaneously without obtaining a divorce. Reportedly, the woman has been accused of cheating all three men and acquired a dowry amount of Rs 11,16,635 from all her husbands. However, the lady claims that she had obtained a divorce from her ex-husband but was found to be incorrect.

Sharjah-Based Company Includes Anti-Dowry Clause In Employment Contract
The founder and CEO, Sohan Roy of a Sharjah-based company named Aries, has made an anti-dowry policy a compulsory clause in every employee's contract. Dowry Death: Woman Dies By Suicide At Her In-Law's House
Vismaya V Nair, an Ayurveda doctor was found hanging at her in-law’s house in Kerala on June 21. However, it is an alleged case of death owing to dowry harassment. The 24-year-old doctor and Kiran Kumar were married in May 2020, and repeatedly tortured by her husband. Several screenshots of her WhatsApp chat clarified that Kiran did not like the car worth Rs. 11 lakh gifted by Nair's father.

Gurugram: Woman Commits Suicide Before Marriage Due to Dowry Demands
Just a month before her marriage, a 28-year-old woman in Gurugram committed suicide by hanging. Reportedly, the deceased Annu Srivatsava committed took the step due to dowry demands from in-laws and husband. The victim's mother also alleged that her fiancé abused her several times, demanded gold before marriage and threatened her with break up. The police informed that a case has been filed and further probe is underway.

UP: Husband Murders Pregnant Woman, Throws Body into Ganga Canal
Muzaffarnagar Police on September 5 said that a pregnant woman, identified as Neha, was thrown into the Ganga canal after she was strangulated to death by her husband and in-laws. Reportedly, the victim's husband, Kamal, has confessed the crime. According to the deceased's father, Kamal and his family used to harass the victim for dowry, and they killed her when their demands remained unfulfilled.

UP: Mother Kills Infant and Hangs Herself Following Harassment Over Dowry
Fatima (22) from Uttar Pradesh's Dataganj town, killed her 14-month-old son and hanged herself. According to the FIR lodged by the victim's father, Fatima was harassed by her in-laws over dowry and few hours before she killed herself, she was also beaten up. The Superintendent of Police (SP) Praveen Singh Chauhan said that the husband has been summoned and further investigation is underway.
