Uttarkashi Avalanche: Death Toll Rises To 19, Search & Rescue Underway
The death toll in the Uttarkashi Avalanche tragedy has risen to 19 as of October 7. A team of mountaineers climbing the Draupadi Ka Danda-II mountain peak got stranded after an avalanche struck on October 4. Since then, rescue operations have been underway. Personnel from Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) are currently working in rescue missions.

Uttarkashi Avalanche: Expert Team From Gulmarg To Assist Rescue Trapped Mountaineers
To rescue 27 mountaineers from Draupadi Ka Danda-II mountain peak following an avalanche, an expert team from Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir has joined the rescue operation. Uttarkashi Avalanche: 8 More Rescued, 4 Confirmed Dead
In Uttarakhand’s Draupadi Ka Danda-II mountain peak, following an avalanche, eight more mountaineers have been rescued on October 5. Reportedly, the trapped mountaineers were airlifted to Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). With this, around 14 trapped mountaineers have been rescued, and they are veiny treated at Uttarkashi’s Matli. Meanwhile, four mountaineers have been confirmed to have lost their lives in the avalanche.
