Drones, Flying Objects Prohibited In Delhi Amid I-Day Celebration

Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations on August 15, Delhi Police on July 21, issued prohibitory orders on flying sub-conventional aerial platforms, including paragliders, drones and hot air balloons in the national capital from July 22 to August 16 for security reasons, officials said. The Delhi Police Commissioner in the official notice mentioned the rising terrorist threats in the region.

Iraqi PM Mustafa Al-Kadhimi Survives Assassination Attempt By Drone

In an attempt, Iraqi PM Mustafa Al-Kadhimi was targeted by a drone loaded with explosives at his residences in Baghdad on November 7. The Iraqi military said the PM got unhurt. However, several personals of the PM's protection group were injured in the attack. An investigation has been initiated, reported Reuters. The attack reportedly came after the protest over the results of the recent general election in the captial.

US Airline Attempts To Enter Food & Meds Delivery Business: Mesa Air Group

Mesa Air Group Inc. is looking to enter the drone food delivery business with the purchase of four pilotless aircrafts from startup "Flirtey". The Phoenix- based regional carrier, has an option to buy 500 additional drones. The deal marks the first time a U.S. airline has attempted to break into the delivery business, and appealed to restaurants, pharmacies, and retailers as a potentially faster, cheaper way to deliver small parcels.

Taliban Warns US Against Operating Drones Over Its Airspace

After taking full control over Afghanistan, the Taliban has issued a warning against the United States for operating drones over its airspace for the first time. The new government also called the US' move a ''breach of national security'', said media reports. Besides, the Taliban's spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said, ''We call on all countries especially the US, to act in accordance with mutual obligations.''

Government May Soon Allow Carrying Nano Drone To Flight

In order to promote the use of drones, the government is planning to allow the carrying of drones to domestic flights. However, according to the Ministry of Civil Aviation's new rules, the passengers can only carry nano drones weighing just 250 grams for ground use. Besides, according to the reports of Times of India, carrying drones to international flights shall apply based on the law of the land.

Suspicious Drone Activity Spotted In Samba District Of J&K

J&K Police spotted four suspicious drone movements on the night of August 1. One was spotted at the Samba's Bari Bhramna near the police station, another at Balol Bridge, and two nearby locations. "Drones were spotted between 09:30 pm to 10:00 pm at different locations", police sources said. A high alert has been issued and a Quick Response Team was sent on the search operation.
