5 Youths Drown In Yamuna River: Delhi

In Delhi’s Yamuna river, five youths died due to drowning under a DND flyover during the immersion of Lord Krishna idol on August 28. The deceased have been identified as Ankit (20), Lucky (16), Lalit (17), Beeru (19) and Ritu Raj (20). Reportedly, while immersing, the idol got stuck in the water. When six persons entered the water to help with the situation, only five returned.

Three Students Drown In Ramgarh Pond

Three students drowned in a Ramgarh pond on May 8. Prabhat Kumar, the Superintendent of Police, shared that the incident occurred in the area of the Rajrappa police station. The bodies have been recovered. The deceased have been identified as students of the Ramgarh Government Engineering College. More details are awaited as an investigation is underway. Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das has called for compensation for their kin.

7 UP Boys Drown In River While Taking Bath After Holi Festivities

In a tragic incident, seven people drowned in Uttar Pradesh on March 29 while taking bath post Holi celebrations. Among the deceased, five belonged to Deoria and two to Fatehpur district. While the deceased from Deoria drowned in the Chhoti Gandak and Saryu rivers in two different mishaps, the Fatehpur accident took place in river Ganga. 30-Year-Old Uttarakhand Woman Drowns While Saving Her Son From Submerging

In a pity incident, a woman lost her life by drowning in Uttarakhand's Gularbhoj Dam while saving her 7-year-old child from drowning in the water. The 30-year-old Anjli Dogra and her family were returning from their field in a boat, which broke down in the middle of the dam. Police have stated that Anjali lost her life while trying to rescue her son. Later, the child was rescued by his father.

Andhra Pradesh: Overflowing Stream Gulps Life Of 11-year-old Boy

Three siblings were drowned in a river in Sikkim.

Three Siblings Swept Away by Bakcha River In Sikkim

Three siblings identified as Purna Rai (29), Chandra (28) and Erika (22), who went for a picnic, were swept away on August 31 due to the strong-currents of river Bakcha. The Police informed that when one of the sibling drowned, the other two jumped into the river to rescue her but even they swept away with the current. Erika and Chandra's bodies were recovered, whereas Purna's body is still missing.
