Study Shows Retraction Of DNA From Pills, Capsules

A study from Australia's Flinders University has proved that the DNA of individuals can be retracted from pills and capsules. Researchers hope that their study can track criminals and "expose illegal drug syndicates". Professor Adrian Linacre of Flinders University said that "the DNA samples can be compared to those found on other pills to examine whether different drug seizures might have come from the same source".

NCB Raids Haridwar Based Drug Cartel; Seizes Contraband Worth Rs 30 Lakh

In a big success, the NCB on April 12 seized 70,000 codeine-based cough syrups, opioid pills worth Rs 30.5 lakh and 15 kilograms amphetamine. NCB seized the contrabands from a Haridwar-based pharmaceutical company, allegedly fudged records to export the prohibited items to UK, US and Europe. Receiving orders on Dark-net, the syndicate supplied them in herbal packages. Arresting four, NCB stated to seize the drugs in 34 searches.

NCB Nabs Drug Lord Farooq's Son In Link With Bollywood Mafia

Shadab Batata, son of Mumbai's drug-lord Farooq Batata, was nabbed by Narcotics Control Bureau on March 25, after several raids in Lokhandwala, Versova, and Mira Road. The agency recovered large quantities of ganja, cocaine, and LSD along with MDMA drug worth Rs 2 crore. Gujarat: Cop, Four Other Arrested With Drugs Worth Rs 1 Crore in Ahmedabad

On September 13, five men including a cop were arrested after the crime branch seized drugs worth Rs 1 crore in Ahmedabad. Reportedly, the cop was involved in drug delivery to avoid suspicion. According to officials, two of the four other accused are old drug mafias, who recently came out on a parole. It is suspected that the seized MD drugs had come from Mumbai.
