Man Arrested For Smuggling Drugs Worth Rs 28 Lakh In Teddy Bear

A cab driver in Bangalore had been arrested for allegedly smuggling narcotic substances in a teddy bear from Assam. The 34-year-old Sakir Hussain Choudhury had hidden drugs worth Rs 28 lakh in a teddy bear. The city police had caught Sakir at a check post within the city limits on December 3. Police informed that Sakir was involved in other illegal activities and had sold drugs near educational institutions.

Gang Of Drug Peddlers Attack NCB Zonal Director In Mumbai

A gang of drug peddlers in Mumbai's Goregaon area have attacked NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede and his team on November 23. Two officials have been injured after being attacked by at least 60 people. Reportedly, the team of four officials were on their way to arrest a drug peddler Carry Mandis, who was booked under IPC Section 353. Chennai: Police Seize 330 Kg Ganja Smuggled for Peddling

Chennai city police's Prohibition and Enforcement Wing seized 330 kgs of ganja and arrested four people who tried to smuggle it into the city. Reportedly, the four accused tried to smuggle ganja concealed among dry fish in a goods carrier from Andhra Pradesh into Tamilnadu for peddling. Inspector Rajalakshmi-led team has also seized four mobile phones and cash worth Rs 2.8 lakh from the accused and initiated further probe to trace links.

Delhi Police have arrested two people near Jhilmil Industrial Area with 275 kgs of marijuana worth Rs 12 lakh. The police busted the drug racket by seizing a truck loaded with marijuana. Reportedly, the marijuana was kept in a secret chamber that was built in the truck, particularly for hiding it. Police informed that the accused have confessed that they committed the crime on the orders of the truck's owner.

2.7 Kg High Quality Marijuana Seized From Delhi Airport, One Arrested

The Narcotics Control Bureau seized a parcel carrying at least 2.7 kg premium quality marijuana from the Delhi Airport, on September 21. According to officials, the marijuana was hidden in an air compressor and was retrieved after cutting the machine open. The consignment was sent from US to a Lucknow resident, C Gidwani, who has been nabbed by the police. A regular buyer, Gidwani used to make payments through bitcoins.

Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Mandates Anti-Drug Undertaking

Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru has decided to make it compulsory for students and parents to submit anti-drug undertaking, starting this year. The officials opined that higher education institutes were the target of drug peddlers and colleges have to take measures like setting up anti-drug committee to prevent students from falling prey. Actress Ragini Dwivedi Sent to Judicial Custody in Sandalwood Drug Case

The First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court on September 14 ordered a judicial custody of 14 days for Ragini Dwivedi and four others for their alleged involvement in drug racket. Other accused including Sanjjanaa Galrani will continue to be in CCB custody for three more days. Ragini, Niyas, Loom Pepper, Prashanth Ranka, and Rahul were moved to the Central Prison, Parappana Agrahara late in the evening of September 14.
