Singapore Executes Indian-Origin Man For Drug Trafficking
Punjab-origin Kalwant Singh, from Malaysia, along with another person, have been executed for the offence of drug trafficking. Singh became the second Indian-origin person to be hanged in Singapore for the offence of drug trafficking in the past three months. According to Singaporean laws, death penalty is inevitable, for persons caught for traficking heroin of 15 grams or more.

Gujarat ATS Recovers Heroin Worth Crores From Pipavav Port
The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad has recovered Rs 450 crores worth of heroin from the Pipavav port in Gujarat's Amreli. The drug peddlers had allegedly soaked threads in a solution that contained heroin and then dried them. They were later made into bales and stuffed in bags for export. " Examination and seizure proceedings by the DRI under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985 are underway," read a DRI release.

Two Afghan Nationals Among 4 Arrested In Delhi Drug Bust
Two Afghan nationals are among the four persons recently arrested in Delhi's Bhogal, in connection with an India-Afghanistan drug syndicate. Those involved in this syndicate would manufacture and adulterate heroin in the local areas, the probe has revealed. One investigator, who is privy to the details of the case, has shared that the man leading the syndicate is based in Dubai.

Four Held With Cannabis In Chittoor District
Four persons in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district have been held with 1.435 kilograms of liquid cannabis, amounting to over Rs 7 lakh. Ravi Prakash, Anantapur Range DIG, noted that they have recently amped up surveillance to check drug trafficking in the area, as per the orders of the state DGP. With the emergence of synthetic drugs, the district SP has been directed to closely monitor the activity of drug smugglers.

Amit Shah Chairs 3rd Apex Level NCORD Meeting
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on December's 27, addressed the 3rd Apex Level meeting of Narco Coordination Centre. Attended by leaders, Ajay Bhalla, IB Arvind Kumar, SN Prashan and others, the meeting, held in hybrid mode. During the meeting, officials discussed drug trafficking and other issues in India. It also highlighted the policies and steps taken to control the situation with all the concerned officials.
