Elephant Sent To Custody Of Forest Department In Rajasthan

In Rajasthan, the forest department kept a female elephant in its custody following the arrest of two men in Dungarpur for transporting it without a transit permit. Both accused, identified as Mukut and Phool Singh, were taking the elephant to Gujarat from Uttar Pradesh. A local court sent the duo to judicial custody till the probe is not completed. The elephant is a captive animal, reported PTI.

2 Social Workers Help Farmers To Adopt Turmeric Cultivation To Earn Better

Social workers Ramila and Devilal Vyas in a revolutionary step convinced the farmers to grow turmeric and earn a good income in Rajasthan's Dungarpur as they were facing loss due to cotton cultivation. Both having founded an NGO namely Jan Shiksha Evam Vikas Sangathan, launched the ''Mahi Haldi'' initiative, joining over 2,500 farmers. The duo also offers the farmers a buyback policy and helps them to sell their crops.
