IndiGo has announced to dedicate October 21 to October 27 for Durga Puja celebrations. Reportedly, the airlines will hold cultural programmes like Dhunuchi dance, Alpona design, and Sindoor Khela at six airports - Kolkata, Silchar, Guwahati, Bagdogra, Agartala and Jorhat. IMD Says Heavy Rainfall Expected In Bengal, Andhra, Odisha, Northeast
The Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted of heavy downpour in West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and the northeast till October 24. Reportedly, the maximum intensity of the rainfall can be recorded on October 22 and 23. The department has cited formation of low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal as the reason. It has also asked fishermen to steer clear of the sea until October 24.

Bengal: Arrangements Made To Live Stream PM Modi's Address In Puja Pandals
As a part of BJP's strategy for Bengal Assembly elections 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Maha Sashti' address will be live-streamed at puja pandals in West Bengal. Reportedly, the address will be live-streamed at Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC) in Salt Lake as well where BJP Mahila Morcha will organise the festival. BJP's state vice-president Partap Banerjee informed that the names of 10 puja pandals will be confirmed soon.

Bengal: Durga Puja Clubs Ordered To Use Govt Grant For COVID Precautions
Durga Puja Clubs in West Bengal have been ordered by the Calcutta High Court to not utilize the state government grant of Rs 50,000 for cultural or entertainment purposes. The court directed that 25% of the amount must be utilized to improve the police-public relation and rest should be used for procuring masks, face shields, and sanitizers. Reportedly, the purchase bills should be submitted for audit purpose as well.

PM Modi To Address the People of West Bengal Ahead of Durga Puja
BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya revealed that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be delivering a virtual note to the people of Bengal ahead of Durga Puja on October 22.
