Kerala BJP Nominates 'Metro Man' E Sreedharan As CM Candidate

As a surprising move, BJP Kerala chief K Surendran revealed that he has requested the party high command to announce 'Metro Man' E Sreedharan as the chief ministerial candidate for the Kerala assembly elections. Reportedly, the news has surfaced on Sreedharan's last working day in Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. The octogenarian had earlier showed interest in the CM's post after he was inducted into the BJP in February.

Kerala: 98 CPI(M) Members Defect To BJP Ahead Of Assembly Polls

Ahead of the Kerala Assembly elections, 98 members of the CPI(M) defected to the BJP on February 23 in the presence of Union Minister Prahlad Joshi.
