Massive Asteroid Will Make A Close Approach To Earth: NASA

According to space scientists, a massive asteroid is coming toward Earth. The giant space rock Asteroid 388945 (2008 TZ3) will make a close approach to our planet at 2.48 a.m. on May 16, as per National Aeronautics and Space Administration. According to space scientists' projections, it will pass us at a distance of 2.5 million miles away. It dwarfs the Statue of Liberty and is larger than the Eiffel Tower.

Ozone May Be Heating Earth More Than We Know, Claims Study

As per a research of University of California, alteration to ozone levels in the upper and lower atmosphere were responsible for almost a third of the Global warming. In addition, the impact was visible in ocean waters bordering Antarctica in the second half of the 20th century. ''This study reveals it also has a big impact on the ocean’s ability to absorb excess heat from the atmosphere,'' stated a researcher.

India's First Solar Mission To Be Launched By Sept 2022: ISRO

India's first solar mission Aditya L1 is likely to be launched by ISRO by September 2022, while India's second space observatory Xposat will be launched by 2022. The Director of the Human Spaceflight Center, Dr. Nair, said "both missions will provide insights into the universe's origin". The spacecraft in the solar mission will be sent 1.5km away from the Earth, where the gravitational pull of bodies will be equal.

Asteroid Likely To Hit Earth; Details Revealed By NASA

Scientists from NASA stated that an asteroid named Bennu is likely to hit the Earth by 2135. Reportedly, the asteroid will be within 125,000 miles of the Earth, which is half the distance between Earth and Moon. “The area of devastation is going to be much, much broader than that, as much as 100 times the size of the crater,” said Lindley Johnson,  a planetary defense officer at Nasa.

5% Of Earth's Power Plants Responsible For Climate Damage: Research

A study by researchers from the University of Colorado has revealed that 73% of Earth's energy sector emissions are caused by 5% of Earth's power plants. The Researchers began their research to help climate activists determine who seems to be responsible for the climate crisis. Additionally, the researchers say that the ones causing damage to atmospheric warming are power plants clustered around Europe, East Asia, and the US.

Huge Asteroid To Pass Through Earth At Close Distance

A four-football field-sized asteroid at a speed of 29,000 Km/hr will pass through Earth at a very closer distance at 11:21 pm (IST) on July 25. The asteroid has been named ''2008 GO20'' and has a width of 97 meters and a length of 230 meters. However, according to the Deputy Director of Pathani Samanta Planetarium in Odisha, it will not collide with Earth and will revisit in 2034.

Solar Winds Unsettle Earth's Magnetic Field

According to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), solar winds enwrapped the earth on July 14, no remarkable impacts were administered. This is mostly because winds weren’t powerful to be reported on the space weather scale. Reportedly, the wind remained for few hours and slightly disturbed the planet’s magnetic field. The geometric waves from solar storms can cause interference in radio communications,… read-more

Earth Has A 'Heart Beat', The Next Beat Is 20 Million Years Away

According to experts, Earth has a 'pulse' of 27.5 million years. Although the scientists have no idea what causes it, but they have figured out that it's a group of geological events. The experts says a large portion of life on Earth is wiped out, occurred at the 'pulse.' However, It occurs every 27.5 million years, and the next one is expected to happen in 20 million years from now.

NASA's OSIRIS-REx Carrying Asteroid Samples Begins Return Trip To Earth

NASA's OSIRIS-REx spacecraft, which collected the dust samples of an asteroid 320 million km from Earth, has started its return-journey on May 11. First launched in 2016, the $800 million spacecraft had found traces of hydrogen and oxygen molecules in asteroid 'Bennu' in 2018. While the NASA mission is expected to reach Earth in two years, currently Japan is the only country to have retrieved asteroid samples back home.
