'India Is A Challenging Place For Business': US State Department

The US has said that India "remains a challenging place" to do business. In its 2021 Investment Climate Statements report, the country's state department urged the Indian government to reduce barriers and bureaucratic hurdles for easy and attractive investment in the country. The report further mentioned the removal of constitutional status from Jammu and Kashmir and the process of the Citizenship Amendment Law.

Four More States Get Extra Grant Of Rs 5,034 Cr From Centre

The Finance Ministry on February 6, stated that four states - Assam, Haryana, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh - have been permitted to borrow an additional amount from the Union Government. The ministry will allot Rs 5,034 crore additionally towards the states for completing the reforms related to the 'ease of doing business'. Earlier, the government had approved eight states, including Kerala, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh for extra grants.
