Indian Air Force Develops Highest Moving ATC Tower In Ladakh

The world's highest mobile Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower has been set up at the Advanced Landing Ground in the eastern Ladakh region by the Indian Air Force (IAF). The ATC manages fixed-wing aircrafts and choppers which operate in the region. The IAF has also positioned the "Igla man-portable missiles" in the region for tackling aerial attacks. India is also thinking about constructing airfields near Line of Actual Control (LAC).

BRO Constructs World's Highest Motorable Road In Eastern Ladakh

At 19,300 ft in Umlingla Pass of Eastern Ladakh, the Border Road Organization (BRO) has constructed and black-topped the 'highest motorable road' in the world. The 52-km Asphalt concrete road will connect important towns in the Chumar sector of Eastern Ladakh and an alternate direct route connecting Chisumle and Demchok from Leh. India, China Holds 12th Round Of Ladakh Standoff Meet

India and China held the 12th round of the Corps Commander-level meeting in China's Chushul-Moldo Border Personnel Meeting Point on July 31 to retrieve a possible solution for the "15 month-long eastern Ladakh standoff". Reportedly, the meeting stretched from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. A possible resolution on the troop withdrawals at the Gogra Post and Hot Spring, PP15, and PP17A friction points respectively is expected.

India's External Affairs Minister Meets Chinese Counterpart

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on July 14 for an in-person meeting in Dushanbe. China agreed to seek a "mutually acceptable solution" when India mentioned the negative impact of stretching the existing situation in eastern Ladakh on "bilateral ties". Although China has moved its troops from Galwan and Pangong Valley, the disengagement remains incomplete at Hot Springs, Gogra, and Depsang.

India, China Start 'Complete Disengagement' At Pangong Tso In Ladakh

India and China have agreed for complete withdrawal of their troops from the banks of Pangong Tso along the LAC in eastern Ladakh. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on February 11 said that while China will pull its troops to finger 8 area, Indian soldiers will revert to their permanent Finger 3 Dhan Singh Thapa base. He added that both the sides will hold commander-level meeting within 48 hours after the disengagement process.

Ladakh: Indian Army Arrests Chinese Soldier, Provides Medical Assistance

A Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) soldier was arrested in the Demchok area of Ladakh by the Indian Army on October 19. Reportedly, the PLA soldier was identified as Corporal Wang Ya Long and had lost his way to Indian territories. He was provided with medical and other basic requirements. He will be returned through the Chushul Moldo meeting point after completing the military procedure.
