Why Does PM Modi Resist Caste Census, Asks Congress

With the ECI announcement of the election schedule in poll bound states, Congres started their campaign strategies. Recently, Rahul Gandhi was asked about the need of Caste Census Survey, to which he replied asking how many journalists are from OBC, Dalits or Backward. The action of Gandhi, created a spark, which is now being a weapon of the INC, raising question against PM Modi, as why they're restricting caste census.

Elections For 5 States To Begin On November 7, Results On Dec 3: ECI

Indian political parties including Congress and BJP, gear up for the 2023 State Assembly elections in five states, after the Election Commission of India, announced the schedule. As per the ECI announcement on October 9, the polling for five states are: Mizoram (November 7;) Madhya Pradesh Nov. 17; Chhattisgarh Nov. 7 and 17, two-phases; Rajasthan on Nov. 23; and Telangana on Nov. 30; Vote counting is on December 3.

ECI To Announce Elections Schedule For 5 States, Press Conference At Noon

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is all set to announce the polling schedule of five Indian states, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram.  The EC officials will declare the dates around at 12 noon, on October 9. Karnataka Assembly Polls On May 10, Results On May 31

The Election Commission of India announced the voting schedule for the Karnataka Assembly elections. As per the ECI, the voting for the 223-Karnataka Assembly seats will be held on May 10, and the results will be announced on May 31. In 2023, The term of the Karnataka Assembly is till May 24 and a total of 5.23 crore electors were eligible to vote and decide fate of the ruling BJP.

Congress Releases List Of 124 Candidates For Karnataka Polls

SC Refuses To Stay Order On ECI Decision Against Uddhav Thackeray Plea

The Supreme Court (SC,) reviewed a petition filed by the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena faction, against the ECI decision. However, in a major setback to the Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena faction, the Top Court, refused to put stay on the ECI decision of giving the 'bow & arrow' symbol to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction. In the hearing, the SC bench allowed the SS name with flaming torch.

Uddhav Thackeray Moves SC Against ECI Decision Of Shiv Sena Symbol

Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena faction moved the Supreme Court against the ECI decision of Shiv Sena symbol row. On February 20, advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi filed a petition to the bench of SC led by CJI DY Chandrachud and urged for an urgent listing of the matter. However, the Top Court refused to listen for urgent listing and asked Singhvi to file the matter on February 21, as procedure.
