David Gogoi and his two pals, Mausam Taluqdaar and Rupam Chowdhary, founded Zerund Manufacturing Private Limited after being denied 30 times. They began with a mere Rs 20 lakh four years ago and have now risen to a valuation of Rs 40 crore. They planned to create an eco-friendly brick out of waste materials. It is 15% less expensive than normal brick and keeps the house cool.

Hyundai Motor Group's ambitious plan to roll out the Hydrogen fuel cell version in all its commercial vehicles by 2028. The price of fuel cells to be converted into electric battery levels by 2030. Besides, Hydrogen is considered to be cleaner than petrol and diesel, as the former emits only water & heat. However, the budding industry of Hydrogen based fuel led by Hyundai suffers from logistical issues.

Using corn powder and stitching techniques, Dhananjay Hegde from Karwar in Karnataka has created newspaper bags that can carry up to 10 kg of weight, does not leak, and can readily retain meat and other wet goods without clogging. He also constructed a machine to commercialize the product. Dhananjay said that he intended to create a sturdy and long-lasting bag. The material is eco-friendly and available locally.

Malaysian researchers at Putra University have developed a material from pineapple leaves fibre that can be used to build drones or unmanned aircraft. Porject head Prof. Thariq said these drones have higher strength-to-weight-ratio and are cheaper, eco-friendly and easy to dispose. ISRO Satellites To Be Powered With Environment-friendly Fuels

ISRO chief K Sivan has said that upcoming satellites and rockets of the space research organisation will be powered by "non-hazardous" and environment-friendly fuel. Indian Space Research Organization is chalking out plans to use hydrogen peroxide as a fuel for its future space endeavours including 'Gaganyaan'.
