Delhi Added 5,000 Startups In 2021, Bengaluru Added 4,511; Economic Survey 2021
The Economic Survey 2021 revealed that national capital New Delhi managed to add over 5,000 recognised startups in the year 2021. Meanwhile, Karnataka's Bengaluru added 4,511 startups in the same year. Reportedly, India recognised over 14,000 startups in the year 2021. FM Nirmala Sitharaman Presents Economic Survey 2022, Projects 8-8.5% GDP
Union FM Nirmala Sitharaman, on January 31, presented the economic survey for fiscal year 2022 to 2023. As per the survey, GDP is expected to be projected at 8-8.5 % for the fiscal year 2022-23. The survey also highlighted growth in various sectors, to accelerate GDP. Moreover, FM Sitharaman will present Union Budget on February 1.

Economic Survey Introduces Bare Necessities Index To Focus On Equity
The Economic Survey 2020-21 brought forth the ‘Bare Necessities Index’ (BNI) to gauge the equitable delivery of bare necessities across all states. New Economic Survey Suggests Increased Public Healthcare Expenditure
The economic survey 2020-2021 has suggested an increase in public spending on healthcare services from the current (1%) to 2.5 to 3% of GDP. Besides, it cited that increased government expenditure can reduce the out-of-pocket expenditure from 65% to 30% of overall health care spending which is the highest in the world. Besides, it advised that the health structure must be agile to enable India to respond to pandemics whenever necessary.
