Education Ministry Scraps MP, DM Quotas For Admissions To Kendriya Vidyalaya
The Education Ministry has decided to remove the Member of Parliament (MP) and District Magistrate (DM) quotas, among others, for admissions to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS). Some government sources have called it a revolutionary decision. A KV official said, "The provision of admissions will continue for a single girl child, and those orphaned due to Covid under (the) PM Cares Children Scheme".

Education Ministry Demands Report In JNU Student Clash
The JNU administration has been asked to submit a detailed report on the clash, which left six students injured. On hearing the incident that took place on the day of Ram Navami, Union Education Minister on April 12s asked for details. JNU Gets 1st Women Vice Chancellor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit
The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) appointed its first women Vice Chancellor, on February 7. Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit's appointment was with the approval of President Ram Nath Kovind and the Ministry of Education, for a duration of five years. The 59-year-old Pandit is also the alumni of the JNU and is currently the VC of Savitribai Phule University. She studied MPhil and has PHD in International Relations.

Education Ministry To Fill Vacant Posts Of Teachers In Central Universities By March
The Education Ministry has set a target to fill the vacant posts of teachers in Central Universities before the new academic session in March 2022. The entire process of filling the vacant posts is monitored by a special team within the Ministry. The posts were initially supposed to be filled by December 30. Reportedly, more than 6000 posts of teachers are vacant in 50 central universities.

Petition Filed Against IIM Rohtak's Director; Failed To Present Degree
A petition has been filed against the Centre's decision to appoint Dheeraj Sharma as the Director of IIM Rohtak in Punjab & Haryana High Court. Reports suggest that the Education Minister had written him twice to present his undergrad degree before the ministry, to which he still hasn't replied.
