IIT Madras Student Allegedly Commits Suicide
In Tamil Nadu's IIT Madras, a third-year B.tech student allegedly committed suicide, confirmed sources on March 14. Identified as Pushpak, a native of Andhra Pradesh died by hanging himself from the ceiling. The incident allegedly happened exactly a month after another IIT Madras student died by suicide in his hostel room. The police has registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.

Lawyers With 10 Years Experience Are Eligible For Consumer Commissioner Post: SC
In good news for lawyers with bachelor's degrees, the Supreme Court (SC) paved way for them to be appointed as consumer commissioners. With this, lawyers who have an experience of 10 years are eligible for appointment as President and members of State and District Consumer Commissions. Judgement came on March 3, upholding the Bombay HC verdict, of quashing the rule, saying 20 years of experience needed for the appointment.

DU Writes To University Vice Chancellor, Demands Amendments In Curriculum
