In a gratifying initiative, some Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) have turned an old government school in Jalandhar’s Bhandal Himat into a creative spot for learning. IIT-Roorkee Starts Drone Research Centre, Gets 100L+ Fund From Alumni

NTA Allows Class 12 Students To Select Exam Date For JEE Mains 2021
To avoid the clash with class 12 board examinations, the National Testing Agency has allowed the JEE Mains' candidates to opt for feasible date in tune with their schedule. The NTA stated it will open the JEE Main 2021 application form from May 3 to 12 to allow candidates fill in their grade 12 roll number and board name. The fourth session of JEE Mains is scheduled from May 24 to May 28.

In No Respite, SC Orders 100% School Fee Payment For Pandemic Period
The Supreme Court on February 8 held that parents have to pay 100% of school fees for the pandemic period. In the interim order, the apex court, however, cleared that any student’s name cannot be omitted from school rolls for non payment of fees. Also, directing that no board student will be denied permission to appear for exams, the court allowed parents to pay the dues in six installments from March 5.

Madhya Pradesh: Roads Turn Blackboards For Children From Betul
In a unique way of tackling the closure of schools owing to the pandemic, children in Simori village of Madhya Pradesh's Betul district are using roads as blackboards. Reportedly, every evening the children assemble to learn and revise the basic mathematics, English, and other subjects by writing them on the road. Terming it "hangout venue" for children, a teacher stated that the latter play and study at the same spot.

Tripura To Provide Free Sanitary Napkins To Schoolgirls
To maintain female menstrual hygiene, the Tripura government on January 20 passed a proposal to provide free sanitary napkins to schoolgirls from class 6 to 12. Kerala Achieves Lowest School Dropout Rate Among All Indian States
Addressing the Kerala Assembly on January 18, Education Minister C Raveendranath affirmed that Kerala records the lowest dropout rate in India.
