Just In: Egypt Erupts For Gaza, Protests At Tahir Square

Protestors are taking over Tahrir Square for the first time in a decade in support of the people in Gaza. This is the first time the Square is taken over by protestors since the 2011 revolution during the Arab Spring, which led to thousands of deaths & toppled Governments.  rallies also took place in other Egyptian cities on day 14 of Israel's bombardment of the enclave following Hamas's deadly attacks.

Egypt To Send Humanitarian Aid To Gaza After Deadly Hospital Attack

A day after the massive attack and blast at Gaza hospital, which killed at least 500 people, Egypt agreed to send humanitarian aid to Gaza. Notably, the approval came after the US President Joe Biden visited war-hit Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that limited humanitarian aid would be allowed into Gaza from Egypt following a request from Biden. Meanwhile, the Israel-Gaza war entered 14th day, on October 19.

Fire Breaks Out At Coptic Christian Church In Egypt's Cairo; Atleast 41 Dead

A fire broke out at a coptic Christian church in Egypt's capital city of Cairo, which left at least 41 dead. The source of fire that broke out in the Abu Sifine church is yet to be determined. "I have mobilised all state services to ensure that all measures ate taken," wrote President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Facebook. Further details on the matter are awaited.

Archaeologists Discover 250 Coffins, Relics Dated To 500 BC: Saqqara, Egypt

Archaeologists discovered treasures of ancient Egyptian antiquities that have been made public for the first time. The artifacts go back at least 2,500 years and were discovered near Cairo's famous necropolis of Saqqara. Statues of gods Anubis, Amun, Min, Osiris, Isis, Nefertum, Bastet, and Hathor, as well as a headless statue of architect Imhotep, are among the relics. Mummies, amulets, and other items were found in 250 coffins.

14 Killed, 17 Injured In Road Accident At Egypt

After two buses collided with each other, 14 people were killed and 17 others were injured on January 8, in Sinai-Peninsula, Egypt. As per officials, the buses collided while speeding in poor visibility due to fog, following which the victims were taken to a hospital nearby. According to the official figures, about 7,000 people were killed on the country's roads in 2020.

Canada Bans Travel From 3 African Countries Due To Omicron Variant

Canada on November 30 banned travelers from three African countries over the fear of new coronavirus strain Omicron. ''We are adding three African countries in the list that are Egypt, Nigeria, and Malawi,'' said Jean- Yves Duclos, Health Minister of Canada. He added the passengers, including vaccinated ones, coming from outside Canada, apart from the United States, would now be tested on Canadian airports, reported ANI.

IAF Chief V R Chaudhari To Visit Egypt For 5 Days

Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari is set to visit Egypt for five days starting from November 28. Meanwhile, the CAS will attend the Egypt Air Power Symposium and Egyptian Defence Exposition (EDEX). It'll be held in Cario between November 28 to December 2. Reportedly, the EDEX will show the demo of technology used by Egyptian armed forces across land, sea, and air.

COP27 Climate Summit To Be Held In Egypt In 2022

The Ministry of Environment of Finland on November 13 announced that the next United Nations Climate Conference, COP27 will be organised in Egypt in 2022. The COP26 was held in Glasgow from October 31 to November 12. The main motive of the summit was to fulfill the goals set in the Paris Agreement in 2015, which focused on greenhouse emission reduction, global warming, climate finance and carbon neutrality.
