AAP Candidate Durgesh Pathak Wins Rajinder Nagar By Election

The Aam Aadmi Party leader Durgesh Pathak won the Rajinder Nagar by election for the MLA seat, on June 26. "All 16 rounds of counting have been completed. AAP candidate Durgesh Pathak has defeated his immediate rival Rajesh Bhatia (of BJP) by a margin of over 11,000 votes," said, Delhi CEO Ranbir Singh. Notably, Pathak got over 40,319 votes, while his nearest rival Bhatia managed to get 28,851 votes.

Rajinder Nagar By Polls Underway, 1.64 Lakh Voters To Decide Fate Of 14 Candidates

The Rajinder Nagar by-poll in Delhi, is underway, on June 23. Starting at 7 am, the voting for the Lok Sabha seat, with 14 candidates in the fray, will continue till 6 pm. AAP, BJP and Congress candidates are in the fray. Approximately 1,64,698 voters are eligible to exercise their franchise, in the area with water issues and liquor policy issues. The voting is underway under the ECI supervision.

Polling For By-Elections Begins in Asansol, Ballygunge Area

Polling process for the by-election to the Asansol Lok Sabha seat and the Ballygunge assembly segment kicked off earlier at 7 AM today. A total of 300 voting booths in Ballygunge and 680 booths in Asansol have been identified as being sensitive. There are a total of 17.5 lakh eligible voters in Asansol and Ballygunge combined. The polling ends at 6:30 PM on April 12.

BJP Wins Gujarat's Morva Hadaf Assembly Bypoll By 45,649 Votes

Gujarat BJP leader Nimisha Suthar has won the Gujarat’s Morva Hadaf constituency assembly by-polls on May 2. Nimisha defeated her closest rival of Congress Party by a huge margin of 45,649 votes. Reportedly, Congress’ Suresh Katara got 21,808 votes in the assembly reserved for scheduled tribes. Notably, the seat was vacant after independent MLA Bhupendrasinh Khant was disqualified in May 2019 for submitting invalid caste certificate.

Village In Madhya Pradesh Shuts Itself Down Amidst Surge In Covid-19 Cases

A village in the Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh has gone into a self-imposed lockdown after four Covid-19 related deaths in the area. The 3,500 residents of Hinota Kalan village are avoiding all public rallies and gatherings organized by leaders for the upcoming by-polls in the district on April 17. Moreover, they agitated at the government's Covid-19 management protocols and they decided to shut down all shops over the weekend.
