Centre Brings Ordinance To Extend Tenure Of ED, CBI Directors To 5 Years

The central government on November 14 brought two ordinances to extend the tenure of the directors of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The ordinance allows the government to extend the current tenure of two years to up to five years. However, the second extension cannot be granted after the completion of the five years of the extension.

ED Conducts Raid At Anil Deshmukh's Residence Under Corruption Charges

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a search operation at the property of Former Minister Anil Deshmukh in Nagpur and Mumbai, related to a money laundering case on June 25. The raid has been carried out under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act for exploitation of officers and corruption. Earlier in May, a criminal case was filed against him and his group by ED after investigating a current CBI FIR.

Enforcement Directorate Claims of Illegal Funding in India Through FiF Organisation

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a charge sheet against the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Muhammad Hafiz Saeed and his partners for money laundering by his financial organization Falah-i-Insaniyat (FiF) foundation. ED said that the FiF was providing funds to channels that were operating illegally. The investigation disclosed that the funds were transferred to India via Pakistan and Dubai.

ED Sources Say Sushant Singh Rajput was Paying EMI for Ankita Lokhande's Flat

Sources from Enforcement Directorate (ED), revealed that Sushant Singh Rajput was paying EMI for his ex-girlfriend Ankita Lokhande's Rs 4.5 crore flat in Malad area of Mumbai. However it is not clear as to how many installments had been paid. Reportedly, Rhea Chakraborty informed ED that Sushant was not able to ask Ankita to leave the property, even though he was paying for it.
