Manipur: Floating Village Gets Polling Station After 30 Years; Residents Happy
About 383 residents of Manipur's Loktak Lake village felt contented after the Election Commission of India (ECI) approved a separate polling booth for the village. Reportedly, the floating village was not in the ECI's records for the last 30 years. Thus, villagers had to register their government ID cards from nearby villages. One of the villagers said, "So we are now getting our legal rights and people are so so happy.”
