Leh: Army Doctors Perform Emergency Appendix Operation At 16,000 Feet
A team of three Army doctors performed a major appendix surgery in a freezing temperature at an altitude of 16,000 feet in Eastern Ladakh. Due to harsh weather conditions, the patient could not be evacuated by a chopper, hence, the doctors decided to perform the emergency surgery at a Forward Surgical Centre (FSC). As reported by the officials, the operation was successful and the patient is stable.
