A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Commander was among the two terrorists gunned down by the security forces in an encounter in the Pampore area of Pulwama on October 16. Reportedly, LeT commander Umar Mushtaq Khandey was killed in Drangbal, Pampore. However, he had killed two police personnel at Baghat, Srinagar. The operation is still underway and further details are yet to arrive.
The terrorist who killed newly recruited sub-inspector Arshid Ahmad Mir was neutralised by security forces on October 13 during an encounter in the Bemina area of Srinagar. On October 10, terrorists attacked a police party in Old Srinagar City’s Khanyar area, where Arshid Ahmad Mir was shot by terrorists and later succumbed to his injuries. Security forces gunned down a terrorist during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on October 15. The terrorist was involved in a recent civilian killing in the Union Territory, Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet. The encounter between terrorists and security forces started earlier today at the Wahibug area of Pulwama.
Top Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) Commander Sham Sofi was neutralized by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora on October 13, said Kashmir Inspector General of Police (IGP), Vijay Kumar. The encounter broke out at Tilwani Mohalla in Tral area, Awantipora. The area has been cordoned off by a joint team of J&K police and the army. Further details are awaited.
In a search-turned gunfight at Kashmir’s Shopian area, a top commander of Pakistan-based terrorist group, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was killed by the security forces on July 19. "A top commander of LeT, Ishfaq Dar alias Abu Akram was neutralised. Akram was active here since 2017," said Vijay Kumar, Inspector-General of Police, Kashmir. Reportedly, another terrorist was also shot, along with the leader.

The security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district killed three militants in an encounter on May 11. Reportedly, following a tip-off of militant’s presence the forces initiated a search operation at Vailoo in the Komernag area of district. Soon the search operation was turned into a fierce encounter as the militants opened fire on forces. Retaliating, the security forces gunned down three militants while the encounter continued.

Security forces in Chhattisgarh have launched a search operation to find 21 jawans who went missing after the April 3 deadly encounter. Meanwhile, seven out of the 24 injured jawans have been shifted to Raipur hospital. CRPF Director-General Kuldiep Singh has also reached Chhattisgarh to analyse the situation.
