SC Orders Punjab & Haryana To Stop Stubble Burning Amid Pollution

The Supreme Court in its order has directed that the state governments of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi to ensure that crop burning is stopped, for which a meeting will be convened tomorrow. It also added that the local Station House Officer (SHO) will be responsible for it under the overall supervision of the Chief Secretary. The decisiion after the Delhi AQI worsened.

 Heavy Flooding In Southern Myanmar Displaces More Than 10,000 people

A senior official at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Lay Shwe Zin Oo, said constant rain in the Bago region that continued from the last week caused heavy flooding in the low-line areas of its capital, Bago town. It is said that there were no losses, but over 10,000 people had to abandon their homes. Bago town recorded 7.87 inches of rainfall hence it is its highest in 59 years.

Yamuna River Water Level Is Above Danger Mark, Nothing To Worry

After a drop in water level, the Yamuna River is above danger water mark in Delhi, amid rainfall. On July 17, the water level in the Yamuna increased from 205.45 metres at 6am to 205.50 metres at 8am and 205.76 metres at 11:00am. Furthermore, Delhi Minister Atishi Singh said, "Delhi does not face any danger due to it but the people in relief camps are requested not to go back."

Cyclone Biparjoy Intensifies, Termed As Worst In History Of India

Cyclone 'Biparjoy' is one of the worst in the history of cyclones in India. After 1988, this is the worst, long-lasting cyclone which is likely to progress to 'severe cyclone' As per the experts and IMD, the cyclone which started from the Arabian Sea, will last for at least 10-days, affecting regions of Gujarat, Mumbai and some parts of Rajasthan. In addition, NDRF and other forces are deployed in action.

Gujarat Ports Alerted Amid Cyclone, IMD

All ports in Gujarat have been asked to hoist a warning signal as a depression formed in the Arabian Sea is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours, confirmed IMD. Fishermen have been told not to venture into the deep sea due to the weather phenomenon. “Depression has formed over Southeast Arabian Sea and lay centered at 0530 hours IST, on June 6.

Telugu States To Witness More Rainfall For Next Few Days: IMD

The Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telnagana, are witnessing heavy to very heavy rainfall. In the latest weather forecast, the Indian Meteorological Department predicted rainfall in the two Telugu states for the next three days. Getting into the details, the two states will witness rain from May 2, and will receive rainfall and thunderstorm till May 4. The people of the two Telugu states were asked to be alert.

Air Quality In Delhi Stays Under 'Very Poor' Category With AQI Of 318: SAFAR

The AQI of Delhi remained in the 'very poor' category, on January 23, with an AQI of 314. It is expected to improve due to rain, said SAFAR. Delhi received rainfall on January 22 and it is likely to continue till January 23 and the minimum temperature is expected to remain between 2-3° Celsius. Meanwhile, Noida and Gurugram's air quality remained 'very poor' with AQI at 307 and 303, respectively.
