‘Black Fungus’ An Epidemic, Says Telangana Government
The Black Fungus (mucormycosis) disease, which is primarily affecting COVID-19 recovering patients, has been declared as an epidemic by the Telangana government. Accordingly, all the government and private hospitals have been advised to follow the guidelines issued by the Centre and ICMR for screening and treating the disease. The state had reported about 80 cases of Black Fungus as of May 18.

Mucormycosis Declared Epidemic In Rajasthan As Cases Cross 100 Mark
Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government on May 19 declared mucormycosis or black fungus as an epidemic as the cases continue to rise in the state. Over 100 cases have emerged mostly in districts of Jaipur, Jodhpur, Sirohi and Kota.
