IMA Requests PM Modi To Ensure Safety Of Doctors, Health Care Workers

As the incidents of violence against doctors are increasing, the Indian Medical Association on June 7 approached PM Narendra Modi to ensure the safety of the health care workers. The IMA has requested PM Modi to intervene "to stop the continuous and ongoing physical and mental assault on doctors." Besides favouring universal free vaccination program, it also asked to book those who were spreading false information about inoculation.

The Central government on May 19 urged the states to make Mucormycosis, a notifiable disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 in India.
