Panchayat Board Proposes Etawah To Be Named As Mulayam Nagar
Etahwa Panchayat Board has proposed to rename Etawah district as Mulayam Nagar. The proposal was made during a Panchayat Board Meeting, to honour the Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, who recently passed away. Notably, Uttar Pradesh's Etawah district was the birthplace of Yadav. The Board is expected to send an official proposal regarding the same to the Uttar Pradesh Government.

Retired Army Man Shoots Wife Dead Following Altercation: Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah, a retired army man shot his 35-year-old wife dead during an altercation in the Friends Colony Police Station area, on August 18. The retired army man has been identified as Satish Kumar Yadav, who shot his wife Sapna dead, with his licensed pistol. Reportedly, the incident occurred following an altercation between the couple. Meanwhile, the police is searching for the accused.

Six Cows Died, 12 Severely Sick Due To Food Shortage In UP's Etawah
About six cows were found dead and 12 severely sick at a gaushala (cow shelter) in UP's Etawah district on June 28. Although the cause of death remains uncertain, the shelter workers said that the animals are dying due to food shortages. Manish Yadav Patre, Sankat Mochan Balaji temple's manager (who runs the gaushala) blamed the authorities for not releasing funds for the cows to be taken care of.
