Biparjoy Cyclone To Intensify, Govt Evacuates Over 37,000 People

Delhi Yamuna River Crosses Danger Mark, Evacuation Process Underway

Authorities in Delhi started evacuating people living in the low-lying areas near the Yamuna banks, as the water level in the river rose to 206.18 metres, much above the danger mark of 205.33 metres.  The concerned officials started the evacuation on September 27, amid the danger mark, the highest this year so far. East Delhi District Magistrate Anil Banka is conducting the evacuation process and alerted people.

Gurugram Hotel Leela Receives Bomb Threat Call, Evacuates Guests

A hotel in Gurugram named Gurugram Leela Hotel panicked and started evacuation after receiving a threat call. In addition, a search is on to trace it, confirmed police on September 13. Notably, the call was received at Leela Hotel in the Ambiance Mall complex around 11:35, following which police was immediately informed and bomb disposal and dog squads reached the hotel for further process.

UK's Royal Air Force 'Airlifts' 102 People From Afghanistan

The Royal Air Force airlifted 102 stranded Afghans on October 23 who were willing to relocate to the British National. The government looks ahead to support these citizens to begin their lives in Britain. Although many flights have been running since August, this marked the first military relocation of eligible Afghans and British nationals since the end of Kabul evacuation.

Evacuation Mission In Afghanistan Completed: UK Defence Ministry

UNHCR Says 500,000 People May Flee Afghanistan In Next 4 Months

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) projected on August 28 that 500,000 Afghans would leave the nation in the next four months due to political instability following the Taliban takeover. However, no mass migration has begun, but UNHCR says the situation might reverse wherein a lot of people will be evacuated. Meanwhile, UNHCR has requested "neighboring nations to keep their borders open to Afghan refugees".

France Completes Its Evacuation Mission In Afghanistan

Amid USA's evacuation mission in Afghanistan, France has announced the completion of its evacuation drive named ''Operation Apagan'' on August 27. French Defence Minister Florence Parly said on Twitter, ''the French military has evacuated around 3,000 people, including over 2,600 Afghan citizens''. France had started the drive on August 15 and the last flight took off late in the night, on August 27.

US To Soon Complete Evacuation If Taliban Cooperates: Joe Biden

Referring to the murder of an Afghan guard at the Kabul airport, US President Joe Biden said on August 24 "we are making every effort to complete our evacuation mission in Afghanistan by August 31". Speaking at the White House, he also added, ''The completion by August 31 depends upon the Taliban continuing to cooperate.'' Ukrainian Plane Hijacked; Lands In Iran After Kabul Airport For Refueling

As countries are making efforts to evacuate their citizens from Afghanistan, a Ukrainian plane, which landed in Afghanistan to evacuate their residents, has been hijacked by an unidentified group. Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Yenin confirms the incident and informed that hijackers were heavily armed. However, Iran's Civil Aviation Organisation says the plane landed in Mashhad but flew to Ukraine after refueling.
