CM Dhami Announced Portal To Facilitate Suggestions On Uniform Civil Code: Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhanush has announced a portal to facilitate suggestions on Uniform Civil Code (UCC). The chairman and members of the expert committee met CM Dhami in the secretariat and held a discussion on the matter. An approval was given in the first cabinet meeting, constituting an expert committee. Furthermore, Dhami lauded the committee’s work so far, and said that it has worked “expeditiously”.

State Government Sets Up Expert Committee To Resolve Hijab Row: Karnataka

Karnataka government has set up an expert committee to resolve the issue involving wearing of hijabs inside the classroom. Six Muslim girls in the Udupi district were barred from attending classes for wearing hijabs, since the last week of December 2021. The committee will study the dress code being followed in various states. Until the committee recommendation comes, all girls have been asked to adhere to uniform rules.

Karnataka CM To Decide COVID-19 Relaxations After Expert Committee Meeting

Karnataka CM Basavaraja Bommai said, the Government will take decision on COVID-19 relaxations. On January 19, CM Bommai said, after consulting to the expert committee. "The decision will take after expert committee will review it and present full picture before us on Friday," said the CM. Notably, the COVID-19 cases are rising in Karnataka and is likely to reach its peak in February and urged people to follow COVID-19 guidelines.

NGT Forms Committee To Look Into Fly Ash Pollution In Hooghly River

Hearing a petition filed by Dakhsinbanga Matsyajibi Forum, NGT created an expert-committee to investigate the fly-ash pollution of Hooghly river on National Waterway 97.
