Omicron Enters Community Transmission Stage In India: Reports

Omicron, the new variant of COVID-19, is in community transmission stage, confirmed reports. According to the experts, most of the cases are being reported in metro cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad. Currently, India has over 10,000 cases of Omicron, however, over 3.33 lakh COVID cases were recorded in the last 24 hours. Moreover, India is reportedly the second worst COVID-19 hit nation, after the USA.

Experts Will Examine Pegasus Allegations: Centre To SC

The Centre told the Supreme Court on August 16 that a team of experts will examine the Pegasus allegations to dispel any wrong narrative. In a two-page affidavit, the government stated that the Pegasus allegations are based on conjectures and "unsubstantiated media reports". The document further denied any links of the government to the Israeli spyware and claimed that the petitioners "have not made out any case".

Facebook Groups To Have Experts Soon; Can Host Live Audio Rooms

Facebook is working on an added feature of "expert" to the Groups where members are experts in a certain field relating to the group can have the authoritative label. The admins can invite a group member who is an expert and a badge will be tagged to their name once they accept the invitation. Experts cannot control group features, however, they can host Q&A sessions or live audio rooms.

Panipat Man Claims Lying Under Guava Tree Helped Him Defeat COVID

A farmer from Haryana's Panipat, Pradeep Rathi, has claimed that lying under a grove of guava trees helped him to recover from COVID-19. The 31-year-old had recently tested positive for the deadly virus. Interestingly, he went to the trees after suffering breathlessness with a view that if he dies, "it better be on my farm". Describing his experience, Rathi said, "Nature heals. I instantly felt better."
