West Bengal: Sweet Shop Owners Oppose FSSAI's Orders To Add Manufacturing Date Tags
Sweetshop owners of West Bengal have opposed the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India's (FSSAI) directives to give 'best-before' date to non-packed sweets from October 1. The directive has been termed as “illogical” under the state climatic conditions, since most sweets last only a day. Earlier, the Sweets and Savouries Manufacturers' Association of Bengal has written to CM Mamata Banerjee to resolve the matter.
