IIT-Bombay Startup Builds World's 1st Microsensor-Based Explosive Detector
An IIT-Bombay startup named 'NanoSniff Technologies' has unveiled world's first micro-sensor based explosive trace detector (ETD). Called 'NanoSniffer', the fully indigenous device can detect explosives within 10 seconds and even classify all military, conventional and homemade explosives. Explosive-laden Truck Blasts, Kills 8 At Railway Site In Karnataka
Massive explosion at Railway’s boulder crushing facility in Karnataka's Shivamogga district on January 21 killed eight people. Huge Explosion in Tamil Nadu's Firecracker Factory; 7 Dead, 2 Injured
About seven women were killed and two others were injured on September 4 in an explosion at a firecracker factory in Tamil Nadu’s Kurungudi village in Cuddalore district. According to the District Superintendent of Police M Sree Abhinav, "The explosion happened in the morning and the reason behind the explosion is yet to be known". Reportedly, the injured are being treated at a hospital and the further investigation is underway.
