Gurugram Police Arrests Accused For Demanding ₹1 Crore From Elvish Yadav

The Gurugram Police arrested a man, who allegedly threatened Elvish Yadav, a YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner. Notably, the man threatened Yadav and demanded ₹1 crore, from the social media star. Yadav instantly registered a case against the unidentified man with the Gurugram Police. The police launched an investigation and arrested the accused, a resident of Gujarat. He is identified as Shakir Makrani.

Karnataka Police Arrested TN Couple Planning Tomato Heist

The Karnataka police arrested a couple from Tamil Nadu's Vellore district for hijacking a truck loaded with 2.5 tonnes of tomatoes. The couple was identified as Bhaskar (28) and his wife Sindhuja (26.) After faking an accident, they planned a tomato heist to extort money from a farmer in Karnataka.  The development came at a time when the prices of tomatoes were skyrocketing, due to adverse weather conditions.

Police Arrest 2 For Filming Obscene Video Of College Student & Demanding Money: Madhya Pradesh

In Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal, two former students of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) have been arrested for allegedly filming obscene video of a student, and blackmailing her. The accused have been identified as Aryan (24) and Khusboo Thakur (25), and a third accused Rahul Yadav is absconding. Reportedly, the victim, a 19-year-old girl, was filmed while changing dress. The trio demanding Rs 10,000 and threatened to release the video.

Police Arrests Woman For Extortion, Blackmail In Dausa Jaipur

In Dausa Jaipur, police arrested a woman for allegedly blackmailing and extorting money from a man, on January 30. The woman allegedly threatened the man to incriminate him in false rape case. The accused, identified as Suman Mishra, demanded Rs 10 lakh from the man, and had taken Rs 1.5 lakh rupees already. Meanwhile, a case against the accused woman was registered and an investigation is continuing under judicial custody.

Delhi Police Arrests Most Wanted Criminals Kala Jatheri, Anuradha

The special cell of Delhi police has arrested the most wanted gangster "Kala Jatheri" and woman don "Anuradha" on July 30. Jatheri was active in multiple Indian states for offenses like extortion and Murder, while Anuradha was active in Rajasthan and was associated with kidnapping, extortion, and murder conspiracy. Police are probing for Jatheri's gang members who are apparently disseminated across various Indian states.

Extortion Case: FIR Against Former IPS Param Bir Singh, 5 Other Cops

An FIR against senior IPS Param Bir Singh, five more police officers, and two others for extortion by the Mumbai Police said an official on July 22. In exchange for withdrawing cases against him, the accused allegedly demanded Rs 15 crores from a builder who then registered a complaint at the Marine Drive Police Station. Reportedly, the builder's two partners were also arrested for conspiring with the police.

Two Men, Woman Arrested For Honey Trapping & Extortion: Delhi

Two men and a woman have been arrested by the crime branch of Delhi police, following a complaint of blackmailing filed by a South Delhi businessman. The woman through her spy camera recorded obscene videos of the businessman and later blackmailed him to pay Rs 1 crore. Reportedly, Raj Kishor Singh was the mastermind of the racket along with Aryan Dixit and Payal.

Delhi Crime Branch Busts Sextortion Racket, Arrests Mewat-Based Criminal

The Crime Branch of Delhi police has arrested the kingpin of a Sextortion racket Mewat-based criminal, Mohammed Barkat Ali in Gurgaon. However, the police is still looking for his associates in Mewat. Reportedly, the gang was luring people through fake female IDs, initiating sex chat on WhatsApp and would extort money through blackmailing. Besides, the police said selling fake cars and bikes on WhatsApp were the major tasks.

Migrants Forced To Pay Rs 2500-Rs 3000 To Cross Maharashtra Border Amidst Curfew

Migrant workers returning to their respective states have complained of extortion by Maharashtra police and transport services, as Maharashtra imposed a 15-day curfew. A migrant from Madhya Pradesh revealed that a traveller bus charged Rs 2500 to Rs 3000 per ticket only to desert them at the borders. Besides, the migrants were also seen crammed in jeeps entering MP which was allegedly overlooked by the Maharashtra police at the border.
