NHRC Seeks Reports From Bihar Govt On 'Eye Removal' Of 6 People

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) sent a notice to the Bihar government seeking a detailed report regarding the removal of eyes of six people at a hospital in Muzaffarpur on November 2. Reportedly, the eyes were removed due to infection in the cornea of those people through ''botched-up cataract surgeries''. The NHRC said, ''a doctor can conduct up to 12 surgeries. But in this case, the doctor conducted 65".
