Wearing Face Mask Has Little Or No Difference In Covid Prevention, Reveals Study
A recent study revealed that wearing a face mask has little or no difference in the curb of COVID-19 spread. Recently, a review led by 12 researchers from esteemed universities around the world has said that masking up may have done little to nothing to stop the transmission of COVID-19. Cochrane Library published the research quoting, "Wearing masks in the community probably makes little or no difference."

Kerala Govt Makes Wearing Face Masks Mandatory In View Of Rising COVID Cases
In view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Kerala, the state government has directed the police department to strictly impose fine on face mask violators. The government has made wearing face masks mandatory in public places, with a minimum fine of Rs 500. Earlier, the same was imposed on April 27, but the police refrained from collecting fines from the violators.

Maharashtra Mandates Use Of Face Masks Due To Rising Cases
In response to an upsurge in the number of cases of Covid, Maharashtra's government has enforced the usage of face masks in all public areas excluding open spaces. Colombian Schools May No Longer Require The Usage Of Face Masks
Colombian schools that satisfy certain conditions will be exempted from wearing face masks in confined places beginning on May 16, according to the Ministry of Health, which announced the change on May 13. Only schools with 70 percent of students and teachers fully vaccinated will be able to lift the mandate. Schools must also have 40 percent of their staff have received a booster dose.

Wear Face Masks While Traveling, Says Union Railway Ministry
Amid the concerns of COVID-19 rise in India, the Indian Railway Ministry advised commuters to wear masks while traveling in trains. On May 11, the Union Railways issued an official notice which read, "all passengers should be wearing face masks at the entry, exits and while traveling in the travel". The notice also asked people to follow all the guidelines of Novel Coronavirus and being cautious.

Only 50% Indians Wear Masks, Reveals Health Ministry Survey
A Health Ministry survey on May 20 indicated that 50% Indians still do not wear a mask despite the harrowing second COVID-19 wave. Conducted in 25 cities, the survey also revealed that 32% of the total mask wearing population have their nose exposed, while 10% wear it on the chin. More so shocking is only 7% of the population use masks properly i.e. covering their nose, mouth and chin.

WHO Clears Doubts On Wearing Fabric Or Medical Masks
The World Health Organization (WHO), in its latest tweet on April 18, clarified that people functioning as health workers or those having COVID-19 symptoms should wear medical/surgical masks. Besides, those looking after the patients or having underlying medical conditions can also use medical masks. On the other hand, people who do not have COVID-19 can wear fabric masks at workplaces, shops or at any other busy public settings.

Delhi Woman Misbehaves With Police When Asked To Wear Mask, Arrested
The Delhi Police has registered an FIR against a city-based couple for misbehaving with on-duty policemen when they asked the couple to wear a mask inside their car. The incident's video has also gone viral, wherein the woman was heard saying, "What if I have to kiss my husband?". In the heated video, the woman also claimed to be a Sub-Inspector's daughter and that she had cleared UPSC exams.
