Police Arrest 4 Persons & Seize Fake Currency Machines: Assam

In two separate operations, the Assam police have arrested four persons and seized two fake currency making machines, informed police on September 9. The arrests were made in Nagaon and Hojai districts. The arrested persons include Jalal Uddin (35), Vanlalruati (42) and Zoramchhani (40) from Nagaon. And from Hojai, Abdul Jalil was arrested. Various fake currencies were also seized. Further details are awaited.

NIA Files Chargesheet Against 4 In Fake Currency Seizure Case: Delhi

In a case related to the seizure of fake Indian currency and gold at Indhira Gandhi International Airport, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed chargesheet against four accused. The case pertains to the seizure of fake currency to the tune of Rs 10 lakh and 175 grams of gold at New Delhi airport, by the customs. The chargesheet has been filed against Mohd Shahjan, Amir-Ul-Haq, Abdul Wahid and Amandeep.

Fake Notes Of All Denominations Surge In Financial Year 2021-22: RBI Report

In the financial year 2021-22, fake bills of all denominations increased, according to a report by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). In comparison to previous year, RBI discovered 101.9% more fake notes in Rs 500 denomination and 54.16% more false notes in Rs 2,000 denomination. Following the release of RBI report, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and TMC MP Derek O'Brien criticized the government for its 2016 demonetization operation.

Gujarat tops in fake 500 and 2000 currency notes seized during 2016-19: Home ministry

According to the Data presented by the Home Ministry in the Parliament, most counterfeited 500/2000 currency notes were confiscated from Gujarat. During 2016-19, fake notes of Rs.2,000 and Rs.500 worth Rs.11.4 crores and Rs.74.38 lakhs were seized, the highest among the Indian states. Reportedly, the ruling government in 2016 announced demonetization to curb fake currency circulation, but the confiscated amount exceeded as expected.

Haryana: Two Men Arrested for Carrying Rs 3,00,000 of Fake Currency

Police confiscated counterfeit currency with a face value of Rs 3,00,000 from two persons, named Gagandeep and Harpal Kaur at Musahibwala checkpoint in Sirsa. Reportedly, when the Crime Investigation Agency signalled to stop the bikers, they tried to escape by taking a U-turn.
