Biden Vows To Evacuate All Americans, Afghan Allies From Kabul
US President Joe Biden on August 20 said that his administration is committed to bringing back all Americans and Afghan nationals who helped the US in their war against the Taliban. "Let me be clear: Any American who wants to come home, we will get you home," Biden said. While speaking about the evacuation process, he said that the mission could be accomplished by August 31.

International Community Must Recognize Taliban As New Government: Taliban
The Taliban after taking over Afghanistan has made an appeal to the international community that their government should now be recognized. "International community should respect the will of the Afghan people", Taliban spokesperson Sohail Shaheen said. Besides, Shaheen added that China “can play a big role in rebuilding, reconstruction of Afghanistan.” The Taliban has also called for the release of funds for the new government.

Ashraf Ghani Resigns As President Of Afghanistan
President Ashraf Ghani will tender his resignation as Afghanistan's president in few hours after the Taliban reached the gates of the capital city Kabul. "The militants are awaiting a peaceful transfer of Kabul city after they entered the capital's outskirts," a Taliban spokesperson said. Canada Vows To Resettle Refugees From Afghanistan
As the Taliban advances to several Afghanistan cities, Canada announced an expanded program to help resettle displaced refugees from the region who are threatened by the Taliban. That includes women figurehead, human rights workers, reporters, religious minorities, and others.
