Samyukt Kisan Morcha Issues Guidelines For 'Bharat Bandh' On Sept 27
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) protesting against three farms laws has issued guidelines for Bharat Bandh to be held on September 27, starting from 6 AM to 4 PM. Farmer union promised to keep a peaceful protest. During protest offices, markets, schools, colleges are not allowed to function, but emergency services will be allowed to avoid inconvenience to public. SKM will hold a preparatory meeting on September 20.

Haryana Farmer Dies Due To Cardiac Arrest; Investigation Underway
Manoj Sharma, a 37-year-old farmer has died due to cardiac arrest near KFC mall at Singhu border on September 15. He belonged to Sonepat's Khanpur Kalan village, Haryana. The 37-year-old had been proactive during the November 2020 protest of farmers encircling Delhi outskirts. He also attended the Samyukt Kisan Morcha's maha-panchayat at Muzaffarnagar in UP. However, the police have filed a case under Section 174 of CrPc.

Labourers To Join Farmers In Nationwide Rail Blockade On March 13

Virat Says Team Discussed On Going Farmers' Protests In Meetings
Indian captain Virat Kohli said that the team had engaged in a discussion the ongoing farmers' protests issue in the team meeting. In the pre-series the media interaction ahead of the England Test at Chepauk, Virat stated that the team "briefly" debated the matter. PM Modi Stresses On Farm Laws Deferment Offer At All-Party Meet
PM Narendra Modi stressed on the Centre’s offer to defer the farm laws for 18 months in the pre-budget all-party meet called on January 30. Ten Senior BJP Leaders From Punjab Quit Party, Join SAD
In an interesting turn of political events, ten of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leaders from Punjab's Malwa region on January 15 defected to join the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). The resignation was tabled as a protest against the Centre's recently promulgated "anti-farmer" legislations. Farmers Thank Supreme Court But Reject Idea Of Committee For Resolution
Calling the Centre's attitude as "stubborn", the protesting farmers have refused to take part in a committee suggested by the Supreme Court for the issues' resolution. However, they thanked the apex court for halting the implementation of the Centre's three farm laws for the time being.
