AAP & Akali Dal Observe Sept 17 As 'Black Day': 1st Anniversary Of Farm Laws

On the anniversary of passing three farm laws by the central government, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have announced to observe September 17 as ''black day''. AAP leaders have decided to hold candle marches in Punjab to pay tribute to the farmers who died during the protest. Moreover, SAD leaders planned to hold a March from Gurdwara Rakabganj to Parliament to support farmers' protests.

Rahul Gandhi Demands 'Roll Back Farms Laws' On Twitter

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on August 27 demanded to ''roll back the farm laws'', as the farmers completed the nine months of protest at Delhi borders on August 26. Celebrating the occasion, the protesting farmers had also organized an All India Convention at the Singhu border. However, supporting the protesting farmers, Gandhi also tweeted, ''he will not let farms be destroyed or gifted to friends.''

Opposition Releases Joint Statement Asking For Discussion On Pegasus & Farm Laws

Opposition parties have released a joint statement asking the government to discuss on the "national issue" of Pegasus in both the Houses of Parliament. They called for a discussion on the farmers' protests and the three farm laws. "It is unfortunate that the government has unleashed misleading campaign to malign the combined Opposition and blaming it for the continued disruption in the Parliament," said the statement.

Farmers To Hold Tractor Rally On Independence Day In Haryana's Jind

On the occasion of Independence day, farmers of Haryana's Jind district have decided to hold a tractor rally along with tableaus on August 15. Meanwhile, farmer leader Bijendra Sindu said they planned the activity to protest against the centre's new farm laws. Kejriwal Rejects Proposal To Set Panel Of Lawyers: Farm Law Case

Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Cabinet on July 16 rejected the state police's proposal to form a lawyers' panel to assist farm law cases, government sources stated. In a cabinet meeting led by Arvind Kejriwal, it was decided that the Delhi government's lawyers will be prosecutors in the farm law cases. Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal is yet to approve this decision.

Farmers Call For Bharat Bandh On March 26 Marking 4 Months Of Protest

Punjab: KMSC Halts Railway Track Blockade In Amritsar After 169 Days
