Farmers Have Right To Protest But Can’t Block Roads Indefinitely: SC

The Supreme Court on October 21 said farmers protesting at Delhi borders against the three farm laws have the right to agitate but they cannot block the roads indefinitely. The decision comes after a resident from Noida complained of delays in daily commuting. However, the top court has asked the farmer union to respond in this case within three weeks and posted the matter for December.

Farmer Unions Cancel Budget Day March, To Hold Hunger Strike On Jan 30

Following violence during the tractor rally on the Republic Day, farmer unions on January 27 called off the march they had planned to hold on the Budget presentation day on February 1. They will now organise public meetings and hunger strikes across the country on January 30. However, the farmer leaders have alleged a conspiracy behind the violence and have asked the government to initiate a probe into it.

Tractor Rally Approved By Delhi Police, Says Yogendra Yadav

The Delhi police have approved the tractor rally to be organized by the Farmer Unions on January 26, stated Swaraj India member Yogendra Yadav. Besides, he said the barricades would be opened for the farmers for entering Delhi peacefully. "We have reached an agreement on the route, final details are to be worked out tonight,” added Yogendra. Reportedly, the rally has been organized to protest against the farm laws.
