Farmers Call For Protest At Jantar Mantar, Police Beef Up Security
The Delhi police have tightened security at Jantar Mantar, Ghaziabad and Singhu border, amid farmers' protest. Notably, on August 22, farmers are scheduled to hold protests against unemployment, due to which, the Uttar Pradesh and Delhi Police have been on alert. The Samyukt Kisan Morcha has called for a 75-hour sit-in protest in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh against the Central government over pending demands, including unemployment.

Ashish Mishra Released On Bail In Lakhimpur Kheri Violence Case
Union minister Ajay Kumar Mishra's son Ashish Mishra, has been released on bail after fulfilling conditions laid down by Allahabad High Court, on February 15. Reportedly, the bail was granted and conditions were stated a week before the release. Ashish Mishra has been jailed since October, 2020 for his involvement in the Lakhimpur Kheri Violence case, which witnessed the killing of four farmers.

Kangana Ranaut Appears Before Mumbai Police In "Khalistani" Comment Case
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, appeared before the Mumbai Police, on December 23. She visited in relation to the FIR against her recent comments against farmers'. Rahul Gandhi Raises Farmer's Issue, Demands Compensation: Lok Sabha
Rahul Gandhi, the INC leader on December 7, raised the farmers' issues in the Lok Sabha session. He asked the BJP led Central Government to release compensation for the farmers, who lost lives, protesting against the "Three Farm Laws" which have been withdrawn. Besides, he questioned the Modi Government over the missing reports of deceased farmers. Notably, approximately 700 farmers from Haryana, Punjab, and UP died while protesting.

Farmers To Hold Protests To Mark One Year Of Farmers' Movement
To mark the one year of the farmers' movement against the three farm laws, Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) is organising protests in various states, on November 26. At Delhi borders, thousands of farmers will reportedly come and protest. Farmers of states such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Bihar will join rallies planned by SKM. Notably, PM Narendra Modi already announced that the Centre will repeal the laws.

Date Of Repealing New Farm Laws To Be Announced Soon: Govt
The date for repealing the three farm laws would be announced after the due procedure, said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on November 23. ''Agriculture Ministry is the nodal ministry, they're doing what's required,'' added Joshi. Notably, PM Narendra Modi already announced that his government has decided to repeal the laws. The Government is expected to bring a bill to repeal the laws before listing them in Parliament.
