"Indian Economy To face Crisis If There Is Law On MSP", Say's S.C-Appointed Committee

Anil Ghanwat, member of the Supreme Court-appointed committee on farm law, said that the Indian economy will face a crisis if a law is made for guaranteeing minimum support price (MSP) for crops. His remarks came amid demands by protesting farmers for legislation on MSP even if the centre planned to withdraw the three farm laws. "Both the centre and farmers should think of some other way to boost farm incomes", he added.

Punjab CM To Build Memorial For Farmers Died In Protests

Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on November 19 said that the state government has decided to build a memorial for the farmers who lost their lives during the farmers' protests. The development came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to repeal the three farm laws. Mr. Singh also demanded that the Centre should give compensation to the state for financial and property losses during the Kisan Morcha.

Not To Stop Protest Until Govt Repeals Farm Laws In Parliament: Tikait

Rakesh Tikait, leader of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) on November 19, said that the farmers will decide to take their agitation back after the three controversial farms laws are be repealed in Parliament. His reaction came after Prime Minister announced that the BJP government has decided to repeal the farm laws in the upcoming winter session. ''Government should talk on MSP as well as other issues of farmers,'' added Tikait.

BJP Govt Set To Repeal 3 Farm Laws, Says PM Modi

The BJP government has decided to repeal three Central farm laws, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 19. PM Modi announced the decision while addressing the nation. The three laws were passed on September 17, 2020 from Lok Sabha. While Rajya Sabha passed the bills on September 20, 2020. ''Today I want to tell everyone that we've decided to repeal all three farm laws,'' said PM Modi.

Farmers Have Right To Protest But Can’t Block Roads Indefinitely: SC

The Supreme Court on October 21 said farmers protesting at Delhi borders against the three farm laws have the right to agitate but they cannot block the roads indefinitely. The decision comes after a resident from Noida complained of delays in daily commuting. However, the top court has asked the farmer union to respond in this case within three weeks and posted the matter for December.

Mutilated Body Of Man Found Near Singhu Farmers’ Protest Site

Mutilated body of a man, with hands and legs chopped off, was found near farmers’ protest site at the Singhu border in the early hours of October 15. The man was brutally murdered and his body found was found tied to a police barricade. the gruesome incident has caused huge outrage among the farmers.
