PM Kisan Yojana For 8.5 Crore Farmers Released
PM Narendra Modi released the 14th instalment of PM Kisan Yojana, on July 26. Approximately 8.5 crore farmers were given benefits of the PM Kisan Yojana, an initiative of the BJP-led Central Government to benefit Indian farmers. In this regard, the Government of India released an amount of Rs 17 crores. PM Narendra Modi during his Rajasthan visit, released the scheme money, under which each farmer will get Rs.2,000.

Rahul Gandhi Makes Impromptu Visit To Sonipat, Haryana
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi made an impromptu visit to Haryana's Sonipat district and interacted with people and spent time with farmers working on agricultural lands. On July 8, he took part in paddy sowing, and had an interaction with farmers. A senior Congress leader Jagbeer Singh said, "It was an impromptu visit ... Rahulji also took part in paddy sowing and drove a tractor."

Telangana Govt Announces Paddy-Based Food Processing Units
In a move to help farmers of Telangana, the State CM K Chandrashekar Rao announced to establish paddy-based food processing industries. The announcement came on June 20, as a part of the 21-day Telangana formation Day celebrations, which kick-started on June 2. For the construction of the food processing units in all districts, the KCR Government estimated an amount of Rs 2,000 crores, which will be major boost to farmers.

Farmers Ended Protest Over Sunflower MSP
After fresh talks with the district administration, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait declared to end their protest and lifted the blockade on the NH44 in Pipli. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Releases 1st Tranche Of YSR Rythu Bharosa Scheme
AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy disbursed the first tranche of YSR Rythu Bharosa PM Kisan Yojana scheme. The amount was disbursed directly into the account of farmers at an event at Pathikonda in the Kurnool district. During an event, YS Jagan disbursed an amount of Rs. 3,923.22 crores, benefiting over 51,000 farmers. Besides the scheme amount, subsidy of Rs. 53.62 crores was given to rain-affected farmers, who lost their crops.

AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy Disburses PM Kisan Yojana Scheme Money
Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, on February 28, disbursed the PM Kisan Yojana scheme money to all the eligible farmers of the state. At a public meeting in Tenali, Guntur, the AP CM released an amount of Rs 1,090.76 crores, benefiting approximately 51.12 lakh farmers. Under the scheme, the farmers will get an amount of Rs 13,500, directly disbursed to their accounts.

Yogendra Yadav Resigns From SKM Coordination Committee, Takes Bigger Role
Yogendra Yadav submitted his resignation from the coordination committee of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM,) on September 5. The resignation was said to be in view of prioritising coordination between political parties and mass movement activities. "I should be relieved of the responsibility of Samyukt Kisan Morcha", said Yadav. Furthermore, Yadav suggested Avik Saha, Jai Kisan Andolan President as his replacement.

Rs 869 Crore Distributed To 41 Lakh Farmers Under KALIA Scheme: Odisha
Under the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation scheme (KALIAS), the Odisha government on September 2, distributed Rs 869 crore to 41 lakh small marginalised farmers. The donation has come on the occasion of Nuakhai, the harvesting festival of Odisha. The CMO informed that each farmer has been credited with Rs 2,000 directly into their bank accounts.

Lakhimpur Kheri Case: SKM To Stage 75-Hour Sit-In Protest Against Centre
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has announced to stage a 75-hour sit-in protest against the centre in Lakhimpur Kheri case on August 18. SKM is an umbrella group comprising of 40 farm organisations. The protesting farmers are demanding for the proper implementation of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops. The farmers protests have witnessed a huge amount of violence since it began.
