India's Agricultural & Processed Food Export Rises By 14% In Q1 Of Current Financial Year

India has witnessed a 14% growth in its import of agricultural and processed food in the first quarter (April to June) of the current Financial Year (April 2022- March 2023). During the same period, in the previous Financial Year, India's exports were worth $5,256 million, compared to this year's $5,987 million. Meanwhile, the government targets to export worth $ 23.56 billion agricultural and processed food in the current Financial Year.

Farmer Seeks Loan Of Rs 6.65 Cr To Buy Helicopter & Rent It Out

Kailas Patange (22), a farmer from Hingoli, applied for a bank loan of Rs 6.65 crore to buy a helicopter and rent it out. Patange, a resident of Taktoda village, applied for loan in a bank in Goregaon, stating that farming in the two acres of land he owns has become unaffordable due to irregular rainfall and drought-like conditions. "Who says only big people should have big dreams?," said Patange.

Jammu and Kashmir Government Plans to Cultivate Land Near Zero Line

The J&K government has decided to cultivate land near the zero line along the border in Kathua. Reportedly, Pakistan is cultivating land up to zero line but India had stopped cultivation 18 years back owing to indiscriminate firing by Pakistan. While Inspecting the land for viability of farming, the Deputy Commissioner Kathua OP Bhagat opined that the cultivation would help both farmers and the BSF.
