Australia's Travel Ban On Citizens Coming From India Confronted In Court

The temporary ban imposed by the Australian government on its citizens coming back from India was challenged in the Sydney Federal Court on May 6. Challenged by an Australian stranded in Bengaluru since March 2020, the court has scheduled to hear the plea on May 10. Earlier, banning under the Biosecurity Act, the Australian government threatened to litigate violators with five year jail term or USD 50,899.

US Federal Court Suspends TikTok Ban Till November

US federal judge on September 27 said that the ban on Chinese application, TikTok, will be postponed till November. TikTok argued that the ban will cause "irreparable harm" to the company, and would violate the First Amendment rights. However, Trump administration had allowed TikTok to continue, provided it sells its US operations to any America-based company. Consequently, TikTok is working on a deal with Oracle and Walmart.
