The West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) adding to the festive mood of the people, relaxed the decibel of bursting of green firecrackers during Diwali, Chatt Puja and Christmas. PM Modi greeted the people of Goa on the occasion of the Feast of St. Francis Xavier on December 3. PM Modi tweeted, "Best wishes to my sisters and brothers of Goa on the day of the Feast of St. Francis Xavier. May this occasion further the spirit of harmony and brotherhood." Every year the festival is celebrated on December 3, to mark the death anniversary of St. Francis Xavier. 

During a press briefing, NITI Aayog's Member Dr. V.K Paul on September 2 said that every pregnant woman should receive both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine to avoid the adverse effects of infection. Given the upcoming festive season, Paul said, ''Celebrate festivals at home and avoid going outside. Mask is must for all even after both doses.''  Reportedly, 54% of adults have received the first dose of the vaccine.
