WB Pollution Control Board Increases Decibel Limit Of Firecrackers Amid Festivals

The West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) adding to the festive mood of the people, relaxed the decibel of bursting of green firecrackers during Diwali, Chatt Puja and Christmas. US Secretary Celebrates Holi At Rajnath's House, Expresses Happiness

US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, who is in India on an official visit, arrived at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's residence on Wednesday and participated in the Holi celebration, on March 8. Expressing happiness to be a part of Holi celebration, Raimondo said, "Raimondo expressed happiness for joining people in the Holi celebration and said, "It's an honour for me to be here on such a holiday."

Banks To Be Closed For 21 Days In Oct As Per State's Festivals

Owing to the multiple festivals in October, Banks in different states of india will only open for 21 days. However, the holidays vary based on festivals in different states. As per the RBI's guidelines, Bank won't open on Sunday, second Saturday and fourth Saturday. Besides, bank will be closed on October 1, 2, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 22, and 26.

Pregnant Women Must Take COVID-19 Vaccines: NITI Aayog

During a press briefing, NITI Aayog's Member Dr. V.K Paul on September 2 said that every pregnant woman should receive both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine to avoid the adverse effects of infection. Given the upcoming festive season, Paul said, ''Celebrate festivals at home and avoid going outside. Mask is must for all even after both doses.''  Reportedly, 54% of adults have received the first dose of the vaccine.

Banks To Remain Shut For 15 Days In August: RBI

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that Banks will remain close for 15 days in August due to national and state-specific holidays across India. Notably, the regular holiday includes five Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Moreover, owing to Muharram and Janmashtami banks won't open on August 19 and 30. Besides, banks won't open on August 13, 16, 19, 20, 21, 23, 30, and 31.
